District Meeting Place & Format¶
November 1983¶
Decided to update meeting schedules and get contributions from the groups to do this.
December 1983¶
The District meeting is to be the first week of the month & rotate the days of the week.
January 1984¶
This year rather than have concepts as topics at District meeting, different topics pertinent to the GSR’s role in AA will be discussed.
May 1984¶
A $5.00 service fee will be returned to home groups in the District who host district meetings.
February 1985¶
District approved a change in meeting format as follows: DCM report first followed by old & new business, then standing committee reports and GSR reports last.
March 1986¶
It was decided to have the PI, CPC and Grapevine committee meetings a 6:30 p.m., prior to the District meeting.
August 1987¶
Motion a made to have the host GSR only presents the topic at the district meeting.
December 1988¶
Motion passed to keep district meeting scheduled the way they are.
February 1990¶
The Area #35 Delegate’s report will be given in conjunction with District 9 & 14.
March 1990¶
Decided to have Area #35 Delegate’s report in this District alone.

No GSR reports given because of Area #35 Delegate’s report.

District supported that the Area Delegate gives his report at one location in each of the 4 zones of Area #35.

Motion carried that the district will pay the prevailing rental cost for holding a meeting provided there is advance notice of what the cost will be. Rationale was that the $5.00 does not cover the entire cost of some of the meeting places.

Group conscience to continue rotating meeting location instead of having one central meeting place.

DCM will contact host groups contact person (usually GSR) and local radio stations to cancel District meeting in the event of bad weather.

Motion made to dispense with the GSR reports at our next meeting to allow more time for our Delegates report. Passed.

Passed to discuss at January meeting that new GSR’s come out of the hat and go on action committees.

Passed to go back to the groups with another vote at February district meeting for GSR’s names to go in hat and put on action committees.

Passed for GSR’s not to go to the hat and be put on action committees.
November 1998¶
Motion made and approved to change the March 1999 district meeting to March 10, 1999 due to a conflict with the Winter Rap-Up held the same day.
April 2002¶
Motion made and seconded to follow old format at the next business meeting to allow for the Delegate to report on the 2002 General Service Conference. All District Officers and GSR’s are to submit written report.

Changing attendance and roll to do with their reports. To save on time motion seconded motion carried.

Motion made to have one question of the District Inventory discussed at the District meeting. Each question will be printed in the minutes. Motion seconded. Motion carried.
The first question is:
What is the basic purpose of the District Committee? Motion made to approve a specific person act as mediator for the District Inventory. Motion seconded. Motion carried.
Some members opposed it. Person declines to act as a mediator. Motion made to allow the DCM to find a mediator for the inventory. Motion seconded. Motion carried.

The District meeting set for September was to be on Labor Day. Motion was made to change Date to September 7th. Motion seconded motion carried.

Motion passed to change the November 7 meeting to the next available night—Mt. Iron to bring back choices to August District meeting.

Motion to eliminate introductions at beginning of meeting was defeated.

Motion passed to send mailing list to current district officers and GSRs only, and to include it with the minutes.

Motion passed to send post card meeting reminders to those who do not have e-mail and those who do have e- mail but for various reasons would also like to receive a post card.

Motion passed for Cook Sunday Group to host the District 8 Meeting on Monday September 13, 2010.
