GRAPEVINE (GV)/LITERATURE Trusted Servant Guidelines

District 8

Position Description:

• Distribute A.A. information to those in contact with alcoholics through their profes-sions, furthering mutual understanding and cooperation between A.A. and professionals, and increasing awareness of member and outside groups and organizations on ways of cooperating with others without affiliating.

• Use a variety of methods to reach the public to inform people where and how to get help.

Responsibilities:

• Attend all District Meetings, Assemblies, Area Committee Meetings (ACMs), and Ser-vice Workshops, where fully reimbursed.

• Give reports of all Committee activities and of all meetings attended.

• Literature/GV Chairs will be funded by District 8 to attend all of these events. Chairs shall be prudent with their spending and will find others to share rooms and ride with, in order to minimize expenses to the District.

• Submit for reimbursement of expenses in a timely manner.

• Read the A.A. Service Manual.

• Obtain, read, and use the Literature and GV workbooks and any G.S.O.-related materials.

• Report all Committee activities and information at each District meeting.

• Have Literature and GV materials available at every District meeting.

• Bring literature and V displays to District open meetings and roundups.

• Take literature orders from groups, and ask the Area Literature and GV Chairs to obtain the materials. Pick up the literature and GV orders from the ACMs and Assemblies.

• Have Grapevine subscription forms available.

• Have Literature and GV catalogs on hand, available for purchase.

• Keep accurate records of all purchases and sales of literature.

• Update the Trusted Servant Guidelines and submit updates bu June of the second year to the District Secretary.

• Assist the incoming Literature/GV Chair with experience, records, information, and suggestions.
