October 1990

When working outside of your district, inform the district where you are working at and where you will be.

January 1995

Motion failed to include NERCC as monthly district speaking engagement.

February 1996

That district 8 make a commitment to have speakers at NERCC at 7:00 p.m. the first Sunday of each month.

April 1996

Passed to have a workshop on speaking at outside facilities. (Treatment centers, prisons, etc.)

May 1996

Passed to not create a district speaker bank and keep at a group level.

September 1996

Passed to give C & T chair $15.00 for literature.

October 1996

Passed for the district to pay $12.50 (one-half rent of Loon Lake Comm. Center) and to reimburse Alt DCM for cost of coffee for the workshop. (Speaking at outside facilities workshop & open mtg.)

April 1997

Motion made to purchase a Corrections & Treatment workbook. Discussion: Two different books. Best time to buy is before April 8th when price will go up. Amended motion to buy both C & T books. Passed.

July 2004

Pink Can discussion: GSR’s brought back to home groups. Groups asking where does money go? Who handles the money? Area Corrections and Treatment Chair-Carey A. explains to District the donations go to jails and prisons for AA literature. Motion made. Motion seconded to form an Ad Hoc committee to study the feasibility of having a “Pink Can” topic. Four passed-lots disapproval. Motion failed.

November 2004

GSR’s are to bring back to home groups on splitting the Corrections and Treatment Chair for next rotation to two chair positions. Motion was made. Motion seconded. Motion carried.

April 2007

Motion passed to bring back to groups the question of whether the Corrections/Treatment committee should be split in two.

May 2007

Motion passed to purchase 10 soft cover Big Books for Thistledew library for the women inmates to read, cost of $33.60. This is District 8 cost, split with District 9.

June 2007

Motion passed to not split the Corrections/Treatment committee during this rotation.

June 2007

Motion passed to split the Corrections/Treatment committee at next rotation.

August 2007

Motion passed to spend $40.95 for books for committee to run meetings at Mesabi Academy.

May 2008

Motion passed to not reimburse people for travel to Thistledew.

June 2010

Motion passed to have the two DCM’s and two Correction’s Chairs from District 8 and 9 arrange to meet and bring to the facility a plan on future meetings at Mesabi Academy in Buhl.

August 2012

Motion passed to send the Correction Chair to a Bridging the Gap Workshop at $90.00

August 2013

Motion to reimburse the District 8 Corrections Chair for the expense of postage to send used or new donated books to jails and prisons.

August 2015

Motion passed to combine Treatment Chair and Corrections Chair into one position.

September 2015

Motion passed to separate Treatment/Corrections Chair position into two positions.

September 2015

Motion passed to fund Corrections Chair with $50 to attend Statewide Corrections Workshop in St. Cloud in October.

October 2019

Safety Cards: motion to contact the Area and get enough cards for the District to be able to give at least one to every group
