March 1983

Approved $3.00 registration fee for mini workshop in Carpenter’s Hall on July 30th.

March 1984

District Workshop to be held July 21st or July 28th.

April 1986

District Workshop will be held June 28th at Carpenter’s Hall in Virginia.

Motion carried to pay $50.00 rent for Carpenter’s Hall for workshop.

May 1988

Motion carried to pursue District 8 and 9 joint Workshop further.

March 1989

Motion carried to have joint workshop with District 9 on 9/9/89.

April 1989

Motion carried to have a $2.00 registration fee for joint service workshop.

February 1990

Date of 6/9/90 set for District Workshop.

June 1990

Motion carried to participate in and select a topic for Area Workshop.

Suggested having two fliers for workshop; one for the workshop itself and one for the evening open speaker meeting.

District has presentation at Area Workshop. We pay for our own people to attend and be a presenter at the Area Workshop.

Results of District Workshop at Holy Spirit Church: Income $264.10, expenses $329.16, net loss $65.06.

August 1990

It was decided that presenters from our district for the 1991 Are Workshop would be selected from people already attending in an effort to save the district some money.

September 1990

It was decided not to participate in a Joint Service Celebration (workshop).

June 1991

DCM advised District 9 of our decision not to participate in a joint workshop.

Report on District 8 Workshop: Attendance poor, remind groups that when you participate that it is common practice to stay for the entire event; Expenses $280.00, income $160.00, net loss $120.00.

Motion carried to gather suggestions regarding workshop such as dates, format, etc.

October 1991

The following decisions were made regarding the next workshop; 1) we will have a district meeting; 2) we will have an open meeting to include Al-Anon and AA speakers; 3) will try a new central location; 4) will try new date; 5) workshop will be a full day; 6) food to be decided; 7) the workshop committee chair will be the alternate DCM.

December 1991

It was decided to have one half-day workshop to include 5 sessions.

January 1992

Motion to pay speaker expenses at the District Workshop.

November 2001

Motion made and approved to keep district workshop in the Gilbert Community building.

January 2003

Motion made and approved to reimburse DCM for workshop supplies i.e. sugar, cups, cream, coffee, etc. Motion made and approved to pay both AA and Al-Anon speaker $25 for gas, plus dinner if they attend the workshop.

September 2003

Motion made and approved a $100.00 deposit for the Gilbert Community Center, money will be returned.

February 2005

Alt. DCM asks District for deposit of $100 for Gilbert Community Center. Motion made and seconded. Motion carried.

February 2009

Motion passed to pay $150 deposit and $100 rent for Gilbert Community Center for the District Workshop.

March 2009

Motion passed to reimburse Chairperson $73.76. He paid for supplies and gas money for the speakers at the District Workshop.

April 2009

Motion passed to have Randy look for a different place for the 2010 Workshop. Motion passed to rescind motion.

May 2009

Motion passed to have District Workshop at the Holy Spirit Social Hall Feb. 13, 2010.

November 2009

Motion passed to have incoming Alt. DCM chair the February Workshop and open meeting for the 2 year rotation and the outgoing Alt. DCM will set up February Workshop and open meeting for that same period.

June 2010

Motion passed to support DCM in his responsibility to conduct a District 8 Workshop regarding AA’s 12 Concepts or Traditions.

February 2011

Motion passed to pay Holy Spirit Church $75.00 for the District Workshop.

Motion passed to reimburse DCM, Alt. DCM and Committee Chairs $100.00 each for the District Workshop.

Motion made to cover expenses for AA speaker at $50.00) and Alanon at $20.00 for the District Workshop.

August 2013

Motion made and second received to fund our share of the expense: $ 50.00 for Districts 8 – 9 – 13 – 16 “Unity & Responsibility” Service Workshop. Vote taken by raised hand and was carried unopposed.

November 2013

Motion was made to give $20.00 to be alternate DCM for copies.

January 2014

Motion passed to approve $75 for Holy Spirit Church, Virginia, as location of upcoming District Workshop.

February 2014

Motion passed to reimburse Member $86.50 for cost of motel for speaker for District Workshop.

February 2014

Motion passed to limit travel to 100 miles for AA & Alanon speakers for District Workshop unless brought up to body for discussion ahead of time.

December 2014

Motion passed to give church $75 for coffee during District Workshop, February 21, 2015 from 12 - 4pm. The church (Holy Spirit) waived $75 usage fee.

January 2015

Motion passed to pay expenses for speakers at District Workshop. Speaker from Superior, WI will receive $25 and speaker from Cook will receive $10.

December 2015

Motion passed to set date and form committee for 2016 District Workshop. Kathy J. will hold committee meeting at her home.

February 2017

Motion passed to send Speaker from Hoyt Lakes, a thank you card and $20 for speaking at District Workshop.

May 2017

Motion passed to give DCM Scott M authority to pick location of upcoming Concepts Workshop.

July 2017

Motion passed to provide United Methodist church with $50 donation for usage of facility for District Concepts Workshop.

September 2017

Motion passed to reimburse DCM with $10 that was given to another member for fuel to present at Concepts Workshop.

January 2018

District Workshop: motion to change date from Feb 10th to April 14th

February 2018

District 8 Workshop: motion to give the speaker $150 for coming.

March 2019

District Workshop: motion to have the workshop next year instead; date will be February 8th, 2020.

October 2019

District Workshop: motion to have the District Workshop on Feb 22nd, 2020; location TBD

Motion to cancel district 8 workshop and join districts 9 & 16 to hold a joint workshop.
